Managed Postgres

Managed Postgres is a PostgreSQL database that Ownkube provisions, operates, and connects to your app for you. Pick a version, size it, and Ownkube generates credentials and injects a connection string into your deployment automatically, with no cloud account required and no database administration on your end.

Managed Postgres ships in versions 17 and 18, pinned per database and upgradable later as new platform versions ship. Ownkube generates a connection string and individual credentials as environment variables on your deployment, and rotates them without you managing secrets by hand. A new database has no public endpoint by default; it’s reachable only from inside Ownkube’s network unless you explicitly turn on public access. Automated backups and point-in-time recovery run in the background once the database is on a current platform version, and production workloads can add high availability with synchronized standby instances alongside the primary for failover.

Managed Postgres removes the operational work of running a database yourself: patching, backup scheduling, credential rotation, and failover are all handled by Ownkube rather than left to you. Databases are billed as a reserved box rather than metered, which gives a predictable flat price regardless of query load. Each database is tagged to a preview environment, so development and production data stay cleanly separate.
